Well we are starting to get some information. Square had their press conferance. Final Fantasy 13 will be for PS3, no suprise there, only CGI footage was shown. A new secret of Mana game is being worked on, but I wasn't clear on what platform it was for. A new Dragon Quest game for Nintendo Wii.
Microsoft has made a lot of new downloadable content for 360 available on marketplace. 2 new demos, and about 12 gametrailers. They will release more each day of the conferance. The new sonic the hedgehog trailer is bad ass, the graphics are pretty good, and it is fast as hell. They also have trailers for NCAA Football 07', and College Hoops 07'. The new demos are Test Drive Unlimited and Lost Planet. Lost Planet looks bad ass, but for some reason I cannot find the demo now on live, and my download screwed up earlier, they may have taken it down. They also announced the HD-DVD drive that you can buy for movies, will attach through the USB port.
The Sony conferance is today at 7pm Eastern Time, so we should know a lot more about the system tonight. Nintendo and Microsoft will have their presentations tomorrow morning.

Watching the webcast right now. It was supposed to start 25 minutes ago and it still isn't on.
I hope they announce a price for the ps3.
They are reporting long lines still outside of the building, so it could still be a bit. Although a PS logo just came up and they are playing music now.

PS3 controller. Better then the batarang I guess, but pretty much the same old shit. I hate the analog sticks being on the same axis.
Gran Turismo doesn't look any different, but that may just be the streaming.
I hate the ps1/ps2 controller, very small horns, good for small hand japs, horrible for me. And yeah, the new Gran Turismo doesnt look much better than the ps2 ones.

Are you kidding me?? This is a dream come true.
According to wikipedia:
When the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system was announced, the controller included with it was the same as the Dual Shock analog controller, except it was black, added two additional vibration levels, was considerably lighter and all of the buttons (except for the SELECT, START, ANALOG mode, L3 and R3 buttons) were pressure sensitive. Many games support the pressure sensitive buttons, such as Square Enix's The Bouncer, SCEA's Gran Turismo 4, Fresh Games' Mad Maestro, various racing games, and the PS2 Metal Gear Solid and Grand Theft Auto installments. However this feature is not considered crucial in determining game design for the PS2 and has since been replicated in controllers from competing consoles.
Why do you think that controller was still a success when carried over to the PS2? It worked. It was confortable as hell, and extremely accessible.
The original Dreamcast and Xbox controllers were huge, so small hands couldn't reach buttons, analog sticks, or shoulder buttons as easily. Not only that, but the placement of the buttons are perfect for many games. One feature, which I thought was retarded at first, was four shoulder buttons instead of the traditional two. I thought it was overkill, but now I can't imagine how certain games would play the same without it.
Sony made a wise move. The previous PS3 prototype controller was my only concern with the final product. Now that the controller issue is settled, as well as hardware, the only area left for concern is versatility.

PS3 will cost 500 in the US with the 20 gig harddrive, 600 with the 60 gig harddrive. I think 360 is going to become the new console of choice. They really shot themselves in the balls by including bluray.

I'll take the xbox controller any day (the S type controller, not the original monster they packaged with it). The Playstation controller has never felt comfortable to me. And they definitely should have one of the analog sticks on a different axis.

I think the 360 controller is just about perfect. I think the only way it could be better is if it maintained the button layout, but fit in your hands like the gamecube controller. The contours of the gamecube controller are fantastic, but the button layout is retarded.
