What do you prefer?

The old shit: Ten, Vs, Vitalogy
The weird/experimental/lost a lot of fans shit: No Code, Yield
or the new shit: Binaural, Riot Act, Avocado

i've pretty much liked every new pj album more than the last one except ra, which gave me a chance to rediscover yield.

so to answer your question, i lean toward the new shit

I want to merge this but I don't know where. Suggestions are welcome

Right now the old stuff and it isn't even close, although a solid run of albums starting with avocado could change that.

No Code and Yield and then I was somewhat dissapointed in Binaural and then RA( :( ). But the new album is fantastic. Not better than Yield or No Code but probably the most consistent album they have put out. I love it. If it keeps going this way then the new era might be my fav starting with Avacado.

How is Yield weird or experimental?

I think the Vitalogy -> No Code transistion lost a lot of fans.

I think "weird" is the wrong word. For the most part the music of No Code and Yield wasn't really experimental (outside of red dot, I'm Open, and maybe a couple of others), it just wasn't mass-marketable hard rock.

The reason I quoted the word "weird" is because it was generally judged by the public as being very different from their previous work. You all know what I'm talking about. I wasn't being literal.

For me, I love them all and couldn't really pick a preference. I guess it just depends on what mood I am in at that moment, they have something for however I may be feeling at any giving moment.

I like Vitalogy and Yield best. It's a hard tossup but a mix of all 3

Vitalogy-No Code-Yield are their best albums and always will be.

Yield and Avocado were good but not great.

I agree 100% with that...those 3 albums are Pearl Jam in their prime.
