VERMILION, Ohio -- An Ohio man was arrested Friday for allegedly riding his lawn mower drunk.
Dondi Bowles, 50, was picked up at about 9:45 p.m. Friday after police spotted him driving the riding mower on the sidewalk, television station WEWS-TV in Cleveland reported.
Police said he had driven the mower to a store about a mile away and was on his way home when he was stopped.
Officers said Bowles' blood-alcohol level was 0.144 percent.
Being that there is a cost associated with arresting, booking, and arraigning this guy and with towing his lawn mower, can't the cops just take him home, give him a ticket for public drunkeness, and get on with preventing actual dangerous crimes?

I'd have to find out how much of a chance he had to cause significant harm to others in the public arena to decide between public intoxication and DUI. I'll leave it up to the jury.

I wonder what charges they booked him on.
Technically, he was driving a motorized vehicle. It doesn't matter what size it is or that it isn't intended for road driving. I can understand how he thought he'd get away with it, but he's obviously a dumbass.

If it was a one time thing, sure. But I read a better article on this one a few days ago, (I think you're losing your touch, B). This was his third drunk driving charge in like, a month.

Police say a breath test showed that Bowles' blood alcohol level was .144 percent, which is over the legal limit of .08 percent.
