Anyone else find it funny that in lots of reviews for Avocado, the critic/reviewer writes it's the first Pearl Jam album since 2000? Example.. Go read the main review at amazon.com

In Uncut this month there is an article where the band talk about the previous albums. Yield isn't even mentioned and Riot Act is only referred to???

i think its great - that album is a very dark moment in pearl jam history, and should be thought of as an accident an never spoken of again. god its actually retarded compared to binaural.

RA was a poor Pearl Jam album, in my honest opinion.

Everyone is so harsh.

Yield, Binaural and Avocado is some of the best PJ ever.

Riot Act isn't great, but it's good...it has moments. Can't a band have these types of records?

Riot Act is a mature album by gifted musicians that is about ten thousand thousand times better than Pearl Jam

exactly.

apparently i am some sort of weird lunatic because i actually like ALL of Pearl Jam's albums, fuck what's wrong with me  . I am really sorry for my lack of intelligence and immaturity.

I wish i just recently joined up on the board and criticised the living daylights of their recent albums then tell everyone else they are a bunch of wankers for actually disagreeing with me  What arrogance  That would be a good reason to join up a board. In fact i am going to join Britney Spears's board and tell everyone how much her latest album sucks.

i used to go on this board because i liked pearl jam and wanted to talk to others who like them. Of course i do not like all of their songs, evacuation, pilate, paracutes etc. but at least I have the capacity not to tell everyone else they have are stupid if they like these songs.

gets off soapbox...

edit: referring to about 2% of the board

BOOYA. And we have a winner.

I'm mystified how RA gets slammed. I wonder if this new album is just the flavor-of-the-month. RA was impressive on many levels; the new album, to be honest, is really growing on me, but I'd say-- breathes deep-- that RA is my favorite PJ album.

If Sleight of Hand would've appeared on this album it would've been so good as to buckle my legs. Except for Love Boat Captain. That song is whack.

Remember, I think RA is good...

but I can't see how some would say it's their favorite. It has so many dull, mid-tempo, blah songs.

I don't care for Get Right, You Are, Help Help or Cropduster. Green Disease is good but not great. 1/2 Full is awesome!

I don't think I will ever understand the hatred for Riot Act. How people can love Ten and hate Riot Act astounds me.
