I know this song is panned by many Pearl Jam fans but I actually love this song quite a bit, live like I said. The studio version sucks IMO, but it's one of my favs from the touring band dvd and in general I always enjoyed it whenever they'd bring it out on the 2000 tour. Am I alone?

No, every song on the Pearl Jam Catalogue is loved and everysong is hated, by some people. It's just that most people fall into latter category when it comes to Evacuation... including me...

i actually like it on the album better. when i went through a heavy, heavy binaural phase i really fell in love with it. the vocals rock.

in my opinion, all it takes to love a pj song is one good sesh with a joint. after that, every song is amazing, even way after the fact. for best results, replace the joint with a blunt.

This is true, although I've found that some songs you initially dislike you dislike even more when high.
For me, I have listened to pretty much all of No Code high as a kite to no avail, although there was one time where I was high and taken Soma I had gotten from Mexico and had a spiritual experience to In My Tree (although it was the LATG version). Still, that's huge for me.

Anyway, to not derail the thread-- Evacuation=

Yeah, even with that whole "worldbeat" vibe that No Code had, still couldn't get into it. Binaural when high is awesome however.

I listened to evacuation for the first time in a long time this weekend to see if I liked it more than I used to.
I didn't.

Berlin, 25 June, 2000 is the best version I have heard. Was not a huge fan of the song, but was listening to this boot, and when they can pull it off, it's a good song. I like it.
