OK, so I listened to nothing but PJ for like a month and half and am now officially burned out on them. I'll wait a couple of weeks and start listening again. Luckily, my shows don't start until early July. Anybody else going through this right now?

I don't know if I'm burned out, but I am a little tired of listening to them right now. Thankfully there's a ton of good music out there.

it happens. they usually dominate my listening time in the months before and after an album/tour. then i put them away for a while, and bring them back out when they sound fresh again.

Almost every night for the past month or so, I've been listening to a different '03 or '05 show while playing online poker. It has come to the point where I can practically predict some factors to the show. These include pace of songs, intensity buildups, order of opening songs played, and I've memorized nearly every fancy drum fill from Matt.

Thankfully I'm glad that RHCP put out a new record. If they didn't, I'd be burned out on PJ by now.

I just got the new album. And I've been digging No Code more recently.

So....no. But I hadn't listened to them in honestly a year before this.

I'll probably take a listening break after this weekend. Last year after Canada I listened to some of the boots of rare stuff afterwards, but primarily listened to other bands and found some good stuff.

I've already listened to the new album about 2x a day for 3 weeks, and am a little bored by it. It usually takes months for me to get to that point. I think it's somewhere in the middle to upper echelon of their albums, so I don't know why. My expectations for this band are just unrealistic.

I burned out on PJ years ago.

My guess would be that the songs on this album are a little easier to get into as opposed to the songs on a lot of their other albums.

I'm starting to listen to the new one a little less than I did a few weeks ago. Instead of 2 or 3 times a day, it's about once every 2 or 3 days now.

I will say though that I'm much more excited about seeing them live now after checking out the recent setlists. Other than the new songs (which I'm excited to hear live), every show is really mixed up it seems. I love going to a show knowing that they could truly break into any song at any moment.

I have a full time job and two kids at home. I rarely get to actually sit down and listen to music unless I am running with my iPod. I have heard the new album straight through about 5 or 6 times. I really do love it and want to hear it a bunch more, just don't have the time. That is probably a good thing, though, it keeps me from ever getting burned out on it.

I've been listening to little but the new album since release, mostly in my car. My car is the best stereo system I own, and where I get my best alone time.

Other than that, I haven't listened to much PJ at all for the past six months, and I'm not burnt on the new album yet.

I have definitely been burnt out on PJ before but I am not right now. 03 and 05 bootlegs for me as well.

I'm totally burned out...

I made a nice copy of the Ed Sullivan Show that I listen to from time to time instead of the album.

Currently enjoying the new Walkmen album.

I'm listening to the new Gomez and Mogwai. I think I might be done with Tool. I just don't like the new one.

I dont get burned out with the music, but sometimes I can get burned out thinking about the 'whole thing'....talking about them on here, reading reports about the shows, (the Chicago thread temporarily ruined my enthusiasm for my shows...I vowed I am not looking in the "Live" section until my shows are over) checking billboard.com to see how the record is selling, etc, etc. So yeah, its 'PJ burnout,' but just the bullshit, not the music itself with me. I also put all concert boots and my copy of RVM away so that when I hear Cordoroy and other concert staples live this spring it will be the first time in a few months that I heard them. The new record though, is still growing on me with each listen!!
