It seems as though there are a lot of people out there who are having major problems with the way the 10 club is managing things now-a-days. From unreliable ticket information to the increasing tardiness (and quality) of the christmas singles, the fans seem to be getting more and more frustrated. Are we asking too much for the mere $20 membership fee, or do the fans have a right to the same quality that we've grown accustomed to in the past. The Ten Club has never guaranteed anything, but they seem to be getting sloppier and less organized ever since the band left Epic. Who's to blame (if anybody)? What are the major issues? Should we be complaining to an organization that has done so much for the fans? Do they really owe us anything? What changes need to take place in order for things to "get back to the way they were"? Is anyone listening to your e-mails of protest?

Discuss your issues here.

Do you think Kat & Sea are getting tired of Pearl Jam themselves?

I don't know...but I'll bet they are more than tired of Pearl Jam fans.

I think if I put myself in thier shoes I'd be tired of a lot of Pearl Jam fans. What ever happened to appreciating what you do get? I think in ways a lot of fans have been severely spoiled. But whose fault is that? The fans fault or the 10 club's fault?

I think that we are spoiled and that the Ten Club really doesn't owe us anything...but the way this band treats its fans is part of the reason why we love them so much, so it makes sense that there is backlash when we don't feel we are being treated well. I think the major issue that people are having is frustration over misinformation from the 10c. I think that the more complaints they get, though, the more chance there is for them to stop pre-selling tickets.

I'm kinda all ranted out, and I'm a lot more happy now that I know there's 10c tix for Perth, but I'm not going to all of a sudden pretend that the problems don't exist, and there are problems.

I can only speculate at this point, but I'm not sure the line of communication between the band, Curtis management and 10c is all that clear. 10c can do a lot better, but they need to be empowered to do so by the people who control the information.

Your letter to the Ten Club (along with PD's) inspired me to start this thread. It seems a lot of people are having issues and this might be any easier way to merge everyones thoughts.

I wonder how it all would have went if the 10c had informed everyone that the GR seats were going to be reversed. Would that have made much difference?

It's obvious that you have no experience with other fan clubs. Do us a favor and do your research FIRST, then see if you have the right to bitch. Read the 10Cs words carefully...as if it was legal text. Bitch all you want... but you have no leg to stand on.

By the way, when's the last time you've pleased EVERYBODY (and we're talking about thousands here)!

Like he said, my letter inspired him to bring this up. Go look up the thread where I posted my letter, read it, then if you can come back and tell me that no one did anything wrong, well, we'd be able to get some discussion going.

Just telling people to 'Wake UP' is hardly the healthiest way to engage in a mature discussion.

I think DMB's fanclub charges $35/yr now and offer roughly the same services.

PJ gives a yearly vinyl single and newsletters, DMB offers a yearly compilation CD of live material. Both offer chances to get tickets before the general public. And both offer exclusive merchandise and potentially some extras if you buy commercial releases through them.)

They also have a lot of the same problems (delyas, people frustrated about not getting tickets or not getting good enough tickets).

Overall, IMO, DMB's fanclub is run better. They have a better website, a better ticket ordering process, etc. They probably don't communicate with the fans as much as 10C does but that saves them a lot of grief in some ways, as well. Of course, DMB's fan club charges a lot more yearly, probably has more members, and would have more resources to operate anyway.

Maybe they need to hire a few more people to help Bierman run 10C. I'm sure it's very hard to balance everything that needs to be done. They should hire a "press secretary" so that people can get the answers they need when they need them. Remember the rumor pit? Should we prepare for burial on that one?

But, in general, we are spoiled.

I only belong to one other fan club, that being U2's.

The quality of service is about the same except for the communication from 10C is atrocious. From annoucing there woulf be a Europe Summer 2005 tour, to piece-mealing together tour dates, to the complete and lack of information regarding playing the southern US states.

Even if they don't know what the tour plans are, which I find very hard to believe, at least let people know that much.

It's a joke when the official fan club is not the place to go to get officially announced information regarding tour dates and sales methods.

But you have to agree that 10C is a much better value than U2's fanclub. U2's club costs more and gets you pretty much nothing besides unexciting "exclusive" website content and their own very messy pre-ticketing process for the last tour.
