right now, i think it's a two-man race.

i give santana a slight edge, just because he strikes more guys out and gets less help from his park. but i don't think peavy is far behind. he's the best starter in the NL right now, with chris carpenter being the only guy with a real argument.

When Carpenter is on, he's just unstoppable. But yeah, those two are probably the best at the moment. I couldn't choose between them.

Just picked up Santana via trade in my non-RM fantasy league, so I'm gonna have to go with him right now.

I'll go with Santana but I've seen Peavy play more and man Peavy can be just plain mean sometimes.

Who is the really young Mariner starter, Felix Hernandez perhaps, that guy is going to be a monster in a couple of seasons.

it's a little early to say him, but he's having quite a year. hell, his last start he didn't allow a fly ball out of the infield until the 8th inning. seems he's perfected that sinker. if you would have said this two years ago i would have responded 'no no, we're not talking worst'

This guy is going to be great if the Devil Rays get better or he goes to a contender.

Peavy was ridiculous last night. I was reading about him calling John Smoltz a boyhood hero this morning. It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since he won the 1996 CY Young.

Smoltz, Maddux, and Glavine all in their prime, wow have we seen good pitching down here.

i'd say the players on the field behind him have a direct impact on him, but i think gonzo was referring to wins which actually doesn't affect how nasty he is.

yeah i mean he does have 7 wins so far.....last 4 starts he's allowed 2 runs......and for some reason boston can't hit him
