okay i was in Hastings today looking for the Nirvana box set and i couldnt find it so i asked the guy working their and some dude over hears me.
He came up to me and said "are you looking for the box set" i said "yes"
then he reponded with a strange reply."they finally released it to celebrate Kurt getting out of purgatory"?
i said "come again?"and he said "it's been 10 years since he killed himself which put him in purgatory and now he's out",needless to say i got the hell out of their without the box set.

after all, every person familiar with spirituality knows that suicides remain at a sort of limbo for some hundreds of years, not only 10 years. and i'm not kidding. we should say a daily prayer for Kurt.

Not according to Vedic injunction, not for 100s of years anyway.

yeah, but he was murdered, just ask twoheadedboy.

and if possible, find punkrockinpearljam and get her to read the thread, because for my money, those two shouting over courtney love is about as entertaining as the interenet gets, short of pornography

actually, it depends on the person. the swamp of the suicides is warm and cosy, and some just stay there. at some point it becomes claustrophobic, and the person is taken to the hospital, where he can rest and gather strenght for the next encarnation

I really haven't heard a lot about that theory. I have heard (maybe this is just Vaishnava viewpoint I don't know) that the person has the live out the rest of his would-be natural days as a ghost and then gets reincarnated. As with animals who are killed before their natural death they come back as the same animal to live out their days in that type of body.

theory? people i know have memories of that place. it was so good there, that they were sort of forced into the next reincarnation. but time is an illusion (the magic length of god), all we have is the present. and i think that, in our illusion of the passing of time, Kurt may be already writing songs in the garden of light, i don't think he would be comfortable in the mud for too long. too much energy.

The only people who have memory of past birth is A) Krishna or B) People who have been graced by that knowledge through Krishna to teach other people a lesson. I highly doubt any of your friends are either.
