I got it immediately when it finally came out last friday (today in the USA, I believe) and, as with the previous two extended editions, I think Jackson and Co. have delivered one of the best DVD productions ever. The extra footage is extraordinary. The bonus material is unequalled in quality. The menu, packaging, sound and video quality and commentary are all top notch. Well worth the wait.

Am I the only one to have picked this one up already?

Mine was delivered on Thursday. :)

I wasn't as impressed by the extended/added scenes as I had expected, though.

Christmas for me. For one I can't afford it right now and I'm very busy during the next week and I don't need a distraction like this.

I also think I'm getting it for Christmas...which means I'm not "allowed" to buy it for myself...which means I have to wait...

Ah well. It'll be nice to get it for free. :)

Just bought it. There is a form to fill out inside the package and you can get a slipcase for all 3 extended editions. I think you only pay 3$ s & h

I'll be getting that. :D

There is much more filler on this than the previous ee's. Some of the new stuff is brilliant, but some of it is easy to understand why it was left out. The saruman scene wasn't very impressive for instance. On the other hand, it's difficult to understand why the extra army of the dead parts were left out.

I'm watching now.

The Mary, Pippen, Frodo, and Samwise Gamgee orgy scene is excellent.

22.99?! Jesus H. Wes Montgomery Pilip Isaac Stanton Christ on a larder! That's fuckin' cheap! Over here the normal price is €39 ($53). I got it for €34 and was happy!
