Some friends and I are making the drive to Pittsburgh for a Pirates-Astros game on Sunday. None of us are Pirates fans, we just want to see the park...and the Indians are out of town.

For those familiar with the place, what's the food like at the stadium? I know all the new parks have specialty places inside...some good, some bad. And how's parking around the stadium?

you need to find the gyros, they will either be sold by pappa dukes or paris grill

they are to die for, even if they cost an arm and a leg

Everyone of my friends that have been to a lot of major-league parks have all said that PNC Park was the best. Have fun.

Greatest park in MLB....at least the greatest built in the last 50 years. I love it. Have a great time.

I'd try to find parking downtown and walk across the Roberto Clemente bridge to the stadium....pretty damn cool. And the view out from center field can't be beat.

Stay away from the Premonti (sic) Brothers sandwiches. Waaaaaay overrated.

I've been to all but 2 ballparks and PNC is one of my favorites..great place...but I only ended up getting food from Outback..I know Manny Sanguillen has a small BBQ place in there and he's usually there (and he was really nice when I met him), and I've heard the food there is good.

You'll have a great time..

we went last april and had a blast. Easy parking, pretty cheap, and it was easy to find tickets. We went on a weekday, bought cheap seats and moved down to the boxes with ease. Have fun.

Been to alot of parks, and PNC is definitely one of the best! Lots of parking available - there a several large surface lots between PNC and Heinz Field (where the Steelers play). It's usually $10 or $15 to park there. There are some lots across the Clemente Bridge in Downtown that are $5 on gameday. One is right across the stret from the bridge (where I normally park).

Food is plentiful and good inside the park. Primanti sandwiches are a local fave, but there is plenty of other good stuff inside as well.

Have fun! I'm going myself Saturday night...

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say a bad word about this stadium. The team that plays in it...well, that's another story. But as for the stadium itself....I've only heard great things.

Everyone's right...that stadium is damn nice.

We had seats in the upper deck along the right field line and the view was still really good. While the only stadium I've been to enough to compare it to is Jacobs Field, the overall look of the place is the best I've seen. Right on the river with the downtown view...nice. Although the food could have been better, as well as the beer prices. Plus I'm spoiled by the awesome scoreboard at the Jake.

We had a great time, although it was weird being at a game where I didn't care who won. I was pulling for the Pirates to keep the shutout in the ninth...but they showed why they're a last place team. I almost felt bad...almost.

This is what makes the MLB financial situation the biggest bullshit in all of sports. Call me when MLB decides to care about their smaller market teams

They do. They get enough in revenue sharing and TV deal alone to have a $40 million payroll (i think)- the problem is... there is no rule requiring those teams use that money on players or player development....

so these owners just get to keep all the profit.

Heh, like the Royals and their bazillionaire owner. Keeping the team just to turn a small profit by keeping payroll below his revenue share.

There's been rumors of McClatchy getting pretty rish the last few seasons with all the revenue sharing the Pirates haul in.

Cuban should just buy the team already.

Cuban's awesome. He wouldn't be able to pay attention to the Pirates though until after basketball season every year.

He'd still be a huge improvement. Fuck-offs like Burnitz probably wouldn't even be collecting a salary in Pittsburgh.
