No...not this man, who I'm sure is a stand-up guy:Image

I'm referring to the studio version of Even FLow in comparison to the live version. After hearing the song on the boots and then listening to it on Ten, it's like going from Lukin to Wishlist.

I agree. As a general rule, songs off Ten sound a lot better live.

But seriously folks, I know what you're saying - Evenflow has turned into almost a punk song (with a giant classic rock solo in the middle) over the years. From 2000-2005, I was really cool with it.

Now, I'm almost thinking they should try it "old-school" once, just to see what that would sound like.

The original recording on Ten might be the worst take they've ever recorded of that song.

I like the old slower version. The video take (also on RVM) is wonderful.

I think I like the faster version more than the slower video version, but it would be neat to see them bust out the old school even flow now and then. What I really wish they'd do is slow down corduroy. The pace they play that at does it no justice.

Yeah, same with Betterman. The tempo for that is fine until the drums enter in the second verse, the song loses it's melodic flow a little then.

Slow it down so you can go out for two smokes, a beer, a leak, and the tour poster huh?

I much prefer the slowed down Evenflow. Maybe when they get really, really old, they'll play their songs slower.

Hopefully something like this will overtake as the setlist staple. I think everyone's bored with the likes of Evenflow and Daughter now.

Umm..no. Slow it down so I can stay in my seat, listen, and enjoy. Thanks. :)

Agreed on Corduroy. I like the slower video version of Even Flow a little better though. Fast Even flow sounds a bit more punk, something I noticed one in a live show where it was played next to Save You. Two songs that sound very different in studio versions.

GTF and Daughter are two the best examples of them speeding up the tempo for me.

Anyone that is a musician know why a lot of bands do this. PJ aint the only ones speeding up their songs. Is it so they can play more songs per show or what?
