i just spoke with my friend and she asked me to pull this post off the board because she's gotten "a million repsonses".

she said it never occured to her to try and reach the pearl jam fans - that we were much more enthusiastic than those who just wanted to volunteer for CARE.

http://www.care.org/ in case you couldn't figure it out from the email address - great organization, they do a lot of good work in places that really need it the most.

I am gonna give it a shot, I wanna go and this could be my good deed for the year.

Did anyone recieve a response?

The first time I e-mailed, my e-mail was forwarded to someone else who was supposed to send me more information. That person never replied so I e-mailed simple's friend again, and she said that there were no more tickets left.

Anyway, thanks again for letting us know about this, simple.

I just got this email back haha:

If you are interested in ONE I will keep you on the list for other events you can volunteer for in the NJ area. We do not have room for volunteers for this weekends PJ shows, and as a side note volunteers actually do not get to watch the PJ shows. That message was not posted by our organization, but apparently by a fan who did so without our approval.

I apolgize to all the people who made the effort to volunteer for CARE.
I was absolutely given the impression that:
a) they really needed volunteers,
b) they hadn't gotten a very good reponse prior to this posting
c) that the volunteers WOULD be watching the show
d) AND that they'd get "tickets that would allow them to roam the venue"

I was told all of this.

I feel bad because I know that a lot of people wanted to go, and because I was also told yesterday afternoon that the people who'd already emailed would get on the list.

I don't know what happened, but I know that when I spoke to my friend yesterday she was wowed at the number of responses, and now today, someone at CARE is unhappy that I posted an ad for CARE "without their approval".
