actually, i've written a bunch of songs now. don't know what it is, but since this first post, i think i have like 4 songs written. i just need to record them now.
any tips on song writing? how to maybe hook up with other people of my skill level? how to record on a shitty laptop?

Why don't you record it so we can hear it?

See how that doesn't work?
you know, as i was playing it i could hear something in there. it's played much differently, in terms of tone, speed and plucking, but i knew i heard something in there

hes not saying it seems similar to betterman, hes saying you can't remotly tell what a song will be like by posting somelyrics and a few chords.

it's okay, rhymes are sort of obvious and it sort of sounds like every other amateur song. just my opinion, though paper v. audio is different.
you know, i don't know what the fuck it is but music is just pouring out of me right now. i'm working on finishing two more songs right now that i think are much better, and i agree that first one is sort of amateur.
i've got a fourth i have some music to yet, no lyrics, that i'm letting sit for now.
how do you guys write songs? i've been making the music, playing it, and just feeling out lyrics.

That's usually how I go about it. Once I have the music down, I go through my notebook to see if I have anything that would match up well. 95 percent of the time I don't, so I start brainstorming for ideas/lyrics.
