Never in a while have I heard an album with such strong 'bridges' in its songs, as I have with Pearl Jam.
Often the bridge is the highlight of many songs on this album.
The bridge in Comatose is my favorite..."oh high above..i'll break the law" etc.
Severed Hand and Life Wasted also have stellar bridges.
"like a tear in all we know..."
and I love what Ed does with his voice when he sings "...why invite it to stay" in Life Wasted.

My favorite bridge is the one in Wasted Reprise. Just beautiful.

I still think that Pilate has one of the sweetest bridges of all PJ songs . . .

the avocado bridges are really good--except for Marker. that one still does next to nothing for me.

Corduroy's bridge might still be my favorite

seems to work better live, but on the album it is way to clunky

Brain of J also

Did anyone read that interview in The Believer magazine a few years back where Ed said he wished he could write better bridges? I thought that was interesting.

I hear ya. Kind of saves the song because the chorus stinks so bad.

I agree that the bridge is great, but I also love the chorus.

The Bass line during the brige for Evacuation is superb.

Hail Hail is another one with a great bridge.
