some of them are great, but i have to be in the mood for it. and sometimes i will be watching the commentary, and start getting pissed off that these motherfuckers wont shut up, and turn it off.

I declare that Evil Dead II has the best commentary ever.
The commentary on all 3 Evil Dead movies are great. I'd like to film a day of my life and have Bruce record a commentary track for it. They should really release a special edition of every movie ever made with commentary by Bruce.

I've only watched the commentary on Spinal Tap and the first part of LOTR...they were really informative, but i couldn't imagine sitting through 12 hours of commentary. The Spinal Tap one is utterly hilarious, it's all done in character.
Spinal Tap is hands down the funniest commentary yet. It's as funny as the movie, and that's saying a ton.
Bubba-Ho-Tep has a good one as well, with Bruce Campbell in character as Elvis.
The award for Most Unintentionally Hilarious DVD Commentary goes to Uwe Boll for Alone in the Dark. Hearing this guy talk about his masterpieces is gut-burstingly funny it's almost embarassing.
one of my first dvds MIB .. was one of my favorite audio commentaries on dvd.
other ones i got into .. that i liked were UHF, the first few seasons of The Simpsons & Futurama, and those Kevin Smith flicks. there are others that i liked, but a lot that were .. boring as hell. i try not to check out the commentaries as much as possible. there's too many movies that need viewing.

It all depends on who's doing the commentary. Most of them are somewhat dull if you're not interested in the process of the filming or visual effects, etc. But actor commentaries can be entertaining.
