Friend
I stood by the road today, only winds flew past
Then I realized an ant, walking along this deserted path
I stood there for a minute and just observed
The ant he slowed, and then he turned
He asked if I had any dear freinds
Yes I said,
there are countless bridges they have helped me
mend.
He then asked me if I look at him as equal
For he knew no more friends, not a single soul to speak of
I said, 'of course I do, you've walked the same earth as
I'
He stopped, took a deep breath, and started to cry.
I asked him why he sat so sad, he'd lived a long, courageous
life.
He simply stood there, tired, a king without wife.
As we paused, it hitting us both at once...
This road, it's come full circle, the end, once again begun
Before he continued, he said one thing
'Spend all the love you can, for it will outweigh ANY
momentary grief.'
I just stood there......transfixed and in awe
Of this peculiar ant, the one who taught me, the one I
can finally say I saw.
