i recently got my hands on a poster that i want to display...my wedding day show (THANKS PJDOLL!!!!!).
i am mounting it on some leftover wainscoting (painted), but i do not want it to yellow or otherwise age poorly, so i'm thinking i need to get some glass or plexiglass to put over it. i have some glass from old frames i can use, but if i am going to do that, i want it to blend rather invisibly.
has anyone done a home-made poster mounting, and how did you solve this particular problem?

Custom frame shops could set you with the materials, or if there's an art store with framing supplies, they'd probably have it for less $$. They have acid free backing that you could mount on, or these little archival mounting corners that just attach the poster to the backing so you can remove it one day if you wish. UV blocking/Anti-reflective glass would keep it safe and is almost invisible. Depending on the size of the poster though, that stuff gets really expensive. A regular piece of plexi has a small amount of UV blocking properties and is fairly cheap but not as transparent as regular glass.
A regular piece of glass with the poster remaining out of direct sunlight or florescent lighting should be fine and keep it from yellowing for a very long time.
has anyone tried to laquer their posters to a mounting set up and how did that work out?
this is of course a very permanent thing, and i suspect that the poster would not like the laquer all that much...

give it a few drinks, and then start with some light kissing?
i was wondering when someone would pick up the double entendre...
