Replace Killer Instinct with Street Fighte II (any version), and Gradius with Super Tennis and you've got yourself a mighty fine list here, Sunny. Definitive.

It took me a couple minutes to decide over SF or KI. I put KI because SF2 is a great game on its own, but cannot hold a candle to Killer Instinct. It's possibly the greatest fighting game (wrestling included) on the SNES. It took a 64-bit arcade hit and applied the "3d" Nintendo graphics to and made it a very good translation for a 16-bit title. The gameplay goes further in depth than SF, and characters are well balanced too. Aside from that, SF2 would win solely due to its "classic" status.
I'm not replacing Gradius 3 with anything in the #8 spot. That game is one of Konami's finest games ever, and is the best "trial and error" game to ever grace the SNES.

This looks a lot like my list, except I would replace Killer Instinct with with Super Street Fighter 2 and get Pilotwings, FFVI, and Final Fight on the list, although with those changes I guess my list doesn't look like yours at all.
Good call on Gradius 3, the level where it starts moving really fast (it's either the last level or 2nd to last) is so fuckin hard

1. Super Mario World- they took the premise of 3 and blew it up with amazing results.
2. Super Ghouls n' Ghosts- harder than fuck to play, but fun nonetheless.
3. Super Castlevania- Castlevania owns all.
4. Spider-Man/Venom- Maximum Carnage- a great beat-'em-up, probably the reason my thumbs are slighty arthritic.
5. Super Metroid- the music alone would earn a spot on my list.
6. Super Star Wars- the first, and the easiest. ROTJ was ridiculously difficult, and I never made it to Vader in ESB without using the debug cheat. For SSW, I can sit down and play the whole thing through without a sweat.
7.Contra III- blowin' shit up is always fun.
8. Street Fighter II Turbo- I can play as Balrog? Sweet!
9. Battletoads in Battlemaniacs- one of the strangest-looking games I've ever played.
10. Mega Man X- easiest MM game ever, but still has much replay value. I still play it every now and then because I don't have to get in a different state of mind to play it as I do for the NES MM games.

That game was fun. $20 slots at the western-themed casino = easy money.

7th level, I believe. You have the opportunity to get a bunch of speedups before the level starts scrolling really fast. The boss is pretty easy, it's just hard since you move so quickly at that point and you can't speeddown at all!
Gradius V for PS2 is actually a harder game, especially the bosses. It's fun as fuck though. You can probably get a used version for $7 by now.
