Okay time to give these guys a plug. They haven't made an album in quite sometime but the ones they did release are amazing....Dummy, Live in NYC are great. Sour Times....great song. Anybody else a fan?

NYC Live is an awesome album. I really love it. I use to play it at least once a week. I think that in this album their songs sounds better than studio versions.

Beth Gibbons is an outstanding vocalist......their music has such an excellent noir quality to it, only a few other bands have achieved, The Velvet Underground namely (even though they sound nothing alike).

Beth Gibbons solo cd really grows on you.

I saw Portishead live in 97 I think, I left there with my jaw on the floor, one of the best concerts I've ever been too.

I love Beth Gibbons...she has the most amazing voice and an unbelievable range. Geoff Barrow is a fucking great songwriter...how I pine for Portishead to release a new album. I know it mostly likely will never happen. That being said her solo album with Rustin Mann is beautiful too

I'm happy to see two of my favorite bands (the other being Massive Attack) being recognized on the board.

Their studio work is amazing, and whoever praised "Glory Box" rocks. That song is brilliant. I only with the band was more prolific

i love that song that sounds like the soundtrack of a terror movie, i can't remember the name:

"and it's been so long
that i can't be sure
and it's been so long
right now, so wrong..."

i had an album, but it was part of the "break-up booty", i only got a tape now.
