my favorite stand up comedian, louis c.k., just had 13 episodes of a family sitcom ordered by hbo. think of everybody loves raymond with a lead character who is balding, a little overweight, and likely to call his t.v. neighbor fagator.
anyone here ever seen louis? hilarious.
head over to his website. he has tons of clips of his stand up on letterman, conan, etc. if his show is half as funny as his stand up, it will be the next cult classic.
well, this is sort of pathetic. i posted about this a year ago, i guess. no one took the bait. well, the show premieres after entourage next weekend. i get the feeling a few of you will watch. it looks like the honeymooners, except with profanity. anyone think the promos look promising?

just saw the first episode on an hbo promo dvd. it's funny. it's taped in front of a live studio audience and it feels like watching the jeffersons or the honeymooners, two of my favorite shows ever. don't expect the slickness of entourage, but this shit will be able to hold its ground sunday nights.

What did you all think? I thought it started out slow but got funnier as the episode went on. It took a little to get used to the set and the whole vibe of the show. I thought the relationship between Louie and the black dude was a little forced. I give it a solid B for a pilot episode. Some hilarious moments\lines. I think this show could go either way as far as the public but I personally will likely get into it.

best line of the show. It was okay, i'll give it another go next weekend.
It was the pilot episode loaded with people who don't have much of acting backgrounds. It is gonna get better. I like the realism of the dialogue, has a "my friends would say that" sort of feel to it. I also liked the interaction between the main character and his wife. It reminded me alot of me and my wife, the awkwardness of her asking him about jerking off....the way they were acting when she was trying to seduce him.
The show has lots of promise.

yeah hes a funny dude, i saw him do a set at bonnaroo 04. but i can't get into the whole live audience thing. its like a offkilter curb/sienfeld/stern hybrid. i'll give another shot though.
