...I suggest you read the threads from teh past few days. Far more critical of idiotic leftys than idiotic rightys the past few days.

I think we're pretty well balanced around here, at least among the regulars. A lot of the hit and run posters are knee-jerk liberals, but those of us who read (and understand) the news and much more middle of the road.

it seems like a healthy balance: somebody will post something bashing bush/the war/whatever a "liberal" wants, and then the "conservatives" return fire and it makes for fascinating reading and always provokes a thought or two in me. between this section of the forum and my flock (new browser based off of firefox) news rss stuff, i feel pretty well up-to-date every day on current events.

on a day-to-day basis, i would probably miss the n+d more than any other part of rm.

One thing that posting on the ND forum has done for me is that now I'm not finding myself on the left or middle ground on issues anymore. I'm competely apolitical these days.

I've had the opposite experience recently. I've withdrawn completely from politics in recent weeks (even stopped reading The Economist for the first time in years) and I heard recently that gay marriage was banned in Australia while I wasn't looking.

I've not missed it too much overall.

Maybe it's just a phase.

A typical thread by a typical lazy, pot-smoking, Bush-bashing, tree-hugging liberal. When does it stop?

Agree. I think there is an imbalance and general feeling of animosity regarding Christian religions on this board. Some threads are started to just bash, and others just become Christian bashing zones.
That said, I have to applaud B for his restraint no longer refering to Christians as sheep.

I heard that Widespread Panic has a new album coming out. Maybe that will work instead.

nothing beats n+d for some good time-wasting at work. pj chat is good for a laugh every once in a while with people going over the top on every possible issue. the other three sections of pj-related stuff are very time-dependent or don't interest me much. other bands can get repetitive, but there is always a new angle to beat to death here in n+d. a+e is ok, but doesn't seem as engaging as this. note i will not comment on gd.

i guess i really enjoy learning about current events if for no other reason than to get my blood boiling over whatever the current issue is (i.e. gay marriage, the war, the economy, et al), and this forum provides a great place to read up on more "fringe" events that might not be on the front page of the new york times today.

After one of Widespread's founding guitarist passed away due to an illness(caner?), the true liberal would care very little for the current rock riff mentality.

Haha, this is good news, the total number of subscriptions will double. Oh, it's made out of hemp...is that going to be an issue?

I wouldn't mind if the newsletter was read. I spend a good thirty minutes or so on actually writing and another five to ten mintues proof reading. This is time, mind you, that I could and should be spending hugging trees and cleaning messy oil off of seals.

If you don't though that's find, we all know that the writing is purely secondary to the actual letter itself.

This forum has moved too far to the Right.

This is because of something I like to call, LWS, or LittleWing Syndrome.

In all seriousness, this board is far more moderate than at any other point in its history. Even a lot of the lefties here are at least reasonable.
