People are such fragile creatures...it's really a miracle that you can pack so many into one place on such a regular basis and not experience loss.

I hope they're ok. 12 feet is a long way to fall, and shorter distances have meant paralysis for good people.

My brother has spina bifita, so in Saint Paul 1998 we were in the far back wheelchair area (there were three or four different spots...no fanclub spots). The guy next to us had cerebral paulsy (sp?), and he and his nurse were smoking something that is neither tobacco nor weed. He passed out during the extended Porch and slouched forward. Beneath us, the frat boys (who were louder than the goddamn band ALL NIGHT) were pretending to catch him.

That was a wierd experience. The best part of the whole night was a fight after the show. This drunk bastard punched a guy, who stumbled back and tripped over my brother. The guy who threw the punch looked at my brother, in the wheelchair, and pointed at the guy he'd just laid out and shouted "LOOK WHAT YOU DID YOU ASSHOLE! You hit a kid in a chair!"

The joke in my family is that my brother got in a fight and won.

Very strange

The same thing happened to my brother-in-law in Minneapolis MN (Target Center??) 1998. I don't know, somewhere in the Midwest. He fell from the balcony (10-12 ft) busted his head open, rushed to the hospital. He's got a nice scar on the back of his head. Oh and, yes, he was hammered. These two are the only 2 instances I've ever heard of something like this happening.

I was sitting near the main exit of the floor and would have seen the stretcher go wheeling by, but I saw nothing. Unless theytook the victim out through the backstage.

I think they usually do, I have seen that they usually have 1 or 2 ambulances parked right next to the tour buses inside the venue backstage, there were medics at boston 1 and that's where they came from, too.
