So far they have combined songs and made them a single track on 2 of the bootlegs I have bought. Does anybody know why they do that?

For example, I have the 5/16 Chicago bootleg. On this boot they merged I'm Open and I Got Id and made them one track. At first I was thinking that they did this b/c I'm Open was used as an intro for I Got Id.

But then I was looking at the 6/24 Cincinnati bootleg and noticed they combined Green Disease and Not For You and made them one track too. I guess Green Disease did flow into Not For You when they played the songs (almost like it was an intro), but you would think they would still but a break between the songs and make them two distinct tracks.

Do you agree or perhaps know if there is a different reason why they did this? And don't get me wrong, it's not really that big of a deal to me b/c if I am going to listen to a boot I will listen to the entire thing, but I just thought it was a little strange how they did that.

Anyway, let me know what you think... thanks!

I think they are doing it to mess with our heads.

They seem to combine two songs when the two songs sort of flow into each other, yeah I see what you mean. I'm not sure why they do it though. Maybe the person making the bootlegs is too lazy to figure out where one song ends and the other begins. :o

Its for the mp3's, so there isn't that millisecond gap inbetween songs that flow into each other. They answer that question in the faq's on the site

if I'm listening to the actual boot I'm likely listening to the whole thing so it never really bothered me.

that's the plan.

Is the transition on those songs seamless? While the last notes from the previous song have yet to fade has the new one started? maybe that's why.

On the ones I've listened to, usually the drums lead right into the next song with zero break.

They seem to have solved that problem. When I burn the shows on I-Tunes there are no gaps at all with the MP3's. I think we have to seriously consider that they messing with our heads.

I think "Green Disease" goes into "Not For You" very well both times I heard it (live @ East Rutherford I and on the Cincy boot.)

Have not heard the Cincy boot yet, just downloaded it last night, but it seemed seemless at the show.

When you play the mp3s in iTunes, it probably crossfades between the tracks so you don't notice the gaps. That's the default playback setting in iTunes, I believe.
