I know it's only been one day, but we didn't get it in Canada. Sucks.

You don't get Storytellers, but you do get free healthcare. :)

Patience. It's not like it's going to be a secret or anything.

My cable company just launched a new channel called MHD (music HD). It's a combination of MTV, VH1, and CMT and they play nothing but music! Anyway, I was watching System of a Down's $2 Bill show and guess what came on next... That's right, Pearl Jam Storytellers in crisp, beautiful High Definition! It sounds twice as good as last night with the Dolby Digital soundtrack too. Here in Chicago, there is no guide information on my cable box for this channel thus far so I have no idea when it is replaying. I am recording it in HD, but I don't think I have the equipment or know-how needed to get it on to the web.

I've yet to see the show in full but I just watched this clip. Amazing. It took me back to my teenage years when I loved this song. Ed's story damn near made me  .

Are you recording it to VHS or to DVR or some digital format?

Hehe, VCR. I don't even have one anymore.

I'm recording it in HD on the DVR I have from the cable company.

By the way... the first commercial break was only 1 minute long. The program has been identical so far, but I will shit myself if they air and extra song with the leftover time from fewer commercials. Doubtful though.

Shouldn't be too hard to rip it to your hard drive if you're doing it through the DVR. I haven't done this yet personally but I'm sure there's an S-video or some type of output you could use to rip it to your computer, provided your video card has the appropriate connection.

Well, I know that you can't keep it HD or even digital through S-Video. Component would be analog but at least keep most of the picture quality, but I don't know of a video card with component video inputs. I would pull out the hard drive and connect it to my pc if it wasn't the cable company's box. I'm also a little paranoiod of the 2-way communication my box has with the cable company when it comes to modifying their property.

I download HDTV rips of TV shows all the time so I'm sure there's a way it can be done.

Nothing extra in the broadcast. Show ended at 1:46pm due to fewer commercials though. My DVR missed the first part where Ed says 'we're here to tell stories' because there was no guide telling it what was on and when it started so it didn't know how far to go back. There were also about 3 audio glitches probably caused from the cable company. They were there when I watched it live and are on the recording too. I'm going to do my best to rerecord it over the next few days and hopefully capture a perfect version.

Hey, cruise on over to http://forums.theskyiscrape.com/vie ... hp?t=46007

if you're willing to try getting it over to your computer. I have a HD DVR too (as well as a HDTV Capture Card) but my cable company doesn't carry MHD.

It might be possible to get this off your DVR in true HD (if you want to). It might not. all depends on whether or not your cable company has flagged that channel as encrypted (which they probably have), and if your DVR has an active firewire port, and if you can get the stuff working to record from it. more info in that thread, and at http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=403695
