i rented this movie cause i heard good things about it and it's director... it had a good cast, but it was an awfully pretentious film might as well been a student film with a bunch of big name actors in it... i want those hours of my life back

it was a bunch of vinettes of celebrities talking over coffee and cigarettes and he trys to make some profound message, by having them all say the same things at some part of their conversation... it was stupid, maybe if i really liked coffee or cigarettes it woulda been better, but my friend who likes both still didn't like the movie

It was cute on mute. Especially when the beginning of the DVD just continued to loop over and over, with the cigarette and the coffee cup. It was good background for an interesting conversation.

Hm. I really enjoyed it and I thought it was completely unpretentious. I didn't think Jarmusch was trying to make any statement at all, and I thought the repetition of various ideas in different conversations was just to be cute and funny. Oh well.

It was kind of neat. My favorites were the Bill Murray vignette and the Tom Waits/Iggy Pop one, as well as the last one with the old guys, though I have no clue who they are, as I barely remember it and probably didn't even know at the time I saw this in the theatre.
