Apparently this demo was screened at E3 in 2005. This created rumors that FF7 was to be re-made for PS3. Square-Enix has denied these rumors. My hope is that they will re-release FF7 and 8 for PS3. I'd love to play these games again, but I don't feel like picking up the multi-disc PS1 versions.
Are those supposed to be pre rendered cutscene graphics or the actual in game graphics?
I don't know if you have ever played FF7, but that is almost an exact re-creation of the opening scene. As soon as Cloud hops off the bus there, you are thrown right into the gameplay.
I don't know exactly how to answer that question, but I guess it's a cutscene since that part was a cutscene in the original version until Cloud gets off the bus.

I haven't played it in a long time, but you're right, that part was a cutscene. I should really finish it, I got to the part right after the motorcycle chase but I never beat it.

The game gets so much better after that point. That whole part of the game in the city is just like a prelude to something much bigger. You should definitely finish it.

I've actually only beaten this game once. I no longer own it. I keep saying I'm going to go back and beat it one day, but I never do. Especially afetr this movie came out, I've been wanting to beat FF7 to catch up on the story and watch the movie.

I know, everyone says that it's so great, but I haven't really been able to get into an RPG or a more involved game in so many years. I can still play Madden and sports games, but I just have a hard time finding time to sit down for stuff like Final Fantasy. I want to though, I always say that I'll sit down and get into it but I haven't done it yet.

My brother and I could never beat the last boss. It is my sincerest hope that they remake FFVII with new graphics and improved mechanics. That would be the greatest thing ever.

so I wonder, will there be a remake?
no way. Square already put enough effort into the VII series with movies and spinoffs...a little too much.
I can tell they're putting all their efforts into the next game in the series.

i doubt it, i think square is too focused on new games
Are you sure? They remade FF3, and there are big rumors going around that FF4 is being remade right now. The remade FF3 made a ton of money for them too. When the FF7 tech demo came out, there was HUGE buzz about it. There's no way Square/Enix missed that. They're like any other company. They love their money
edit: The FF4 remake has just been confirmed for the DS

well it seems like it's a lot easier to remake older FFs on the DS than it would be on the PS3. I think they're much more focused on however many FFXIIIs they're making, so if they do decide to remake 7, it won't be any time soon

they will eventually remake the game. theres just too great a demand to ignore.
ive played the game more than enough times already. and id have to buy a ps3, and that sure aint happening anytime soon. but that trailer did look amazing.
