I paid for all these movie channels last month and have been catching some classics along the way. I've also seen some underrated movies that i think are great and wanted to create a thread that praised these good finds every week. This week the movie is Breakdown.

It stars Kurt Russell and the late J.T. Walsh along with the chick who showed her tits and ass in The Doors(i forget her name but she played Patricia Kennealy, the witch chick in that movie).

Anyway, i love this movie for some reason. It has the feel of your classic 80's action flick but with a little more 90's thrown in. Russell's car breaks down somewhere in the desert and his wife is eventually kidnapped as J.T. Walsh picks her up to get a tow truck. Russell isn't sure what the fuck just happened but soon finds out that his wife is being held ransom. It sounds stupid and cliche(and is) but J.T. Walsh is so bad-ass that it works. Throw in a fake retard and a couple of hillbillies and this movie throws you around and really hits the spot. I always have to leave this flick on if i see it on a station(just like Die-Hard, Predator, Terminator 2, etc..) which is weird cause it's not the type of movie from the 90's that i would normally like.

Anyway, if you haven't seen this movie and you like your basic action film you should rent it. Definitely an entertaining movie. Comments?

I saw it in the mid or late 90s. I remember thinking it was watchable, but I don't remember loving it.

For some reason I enjoyed another B Kurt Russel movie though.. executive decision.

Dont' ask me why, except for the obvious (that john claude van damme gets killed in the first 10 minutes)... woo hoo!

yeah, he definitely does. Apparently this movie doesn't work for people here(according to the responses)

you can't go wrong with douche-van dan getting killed early, but i could never get into Exec-decision. Plus JT Walsh isn't in that ;)

Isn't it Seagal who gets killed at the beginning of Executive Decision? back on topic though, I feel the same way about Breakdown, def. rewatchable movie.

You can't go wrong with J.T. Walsh. Definitely one of those "stop-and-watch" flicks while surfing.

A Hall of Famer as 'That Guy" as Bill Simmons would say. Tremendous actor(especially if he's playing a dick). He makes the whole movie for me even though Russell is on his game as well

I quite enjoyed this movie, I've seen it a few times. I really, really, wanted a red grand cherokee after watching this movie!
