Let down for those who paid for the ppv?...absolutely. But even after that first elbow Ken had no defense up, let alone the next series of strikes. Shamrock was fine and he wanted to keep it going...but another 2 or 3 solid elbows could've been a completely different story. After that first hard elbow, Shamrock's guard went right down and it stayed down for 4 or 5 more hits, so he was obviously seriously affected by it.
The best fight of the night was the one after that.
Parchy has a a point. Shamrock just can't compete with the UFC's elite anymore. He will not beat Ortiz and that's that. The rivalry is stupid. Shamrock should be content with his successful fighting and pro wrestling career. I'm sure he has made a shitload of money.

Bad stop. If Tito had landed 3 to 6 more shots, than I could see that... but He was barely hitting Ken. I really didn't think tito was all that dominant. Ken should fight one more time against one of the TUF guys, maybe Forrest or Bonnar, and see what happens there.
I'm really excited about Silva-Liddell, if it actually happens.

the whole night was disappointing, with the exception of the stevenson/edwards fight. we all knew yves edwards was gonna end up losing, but we were cheering him on really hard hoping he would finish the second round. i don't think i've ever seen a cut bleed that much in a ufc fight.

Me neither. I'm surprised it went on that long. I disagree that that was the best fight, though. It wasn't nearly as competitive as Burkman/Neer.
But to be honest...this is the first UFC ppv I have ever watched. A lot of my friends said it was a let-down, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm going to backtrack and watch UFC 1-60, haha.
