Underrated by PJ freaks like us: I am Mine- Not on anyone's list of favorites, whether they are talking about the 'classics' or the 'rarities.' The thing that seperates this song for me from the other midtempo forgettable songs from this era are the amazing lyrics and the hope this song inspires in me.

Underrated by people who think PJ broke up in 1995, only to reunite for the Rolling Stone cover the other day: Nothingman- had PJ not been seen as such a 'hard' rock band at this time, this song could have been the ballad of a generation. I just thing most people were unwilling to accept the lyrical brilliance of this song from the 'screaming angry dude who hangs from rafters at shows.'

If it's unendingly fawned over, day and night by 90% of this board, it can hardly be called "underated." Seriously, half the posts in the Storytellers thread were "I'm sooooo sad that they didn't play Insignificance. "

See, at least this guy posted an actual explanation for his choice.

I Am Mine is one my top ten PJ songs, so I would't say it's underatted.

As far as songs underatted by the fans, I would go with U, which I think is great. It's really simple but it is what it is. It's fun and I think the lyrics, simple yes, but are really dead on. I also like how there is very small but drastic change in lyrics between the Wishlist b-side and the Lost Dogs release. "I (don't) think it's easy to stay in love/ but you, you, you" It's great. The original (most likley written about Beth since it's from Yield) he says it is easy to stay in love where the redone version, he add he doesn't. It works on a couple ways. He think it's easy to stay in love but she challanges him and it's a good thing. Where the second one he thinks it's not but she kind of forces him to be in love.
