It's official! At last we can confirm the rescheduled Vertigo//2006 shows. U2 will hit the road again in November. Starting in Brisbane on November 7th , U2 will play further dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan before finishing in Hawaii on December 9.
Kanye West will join the band in Australia and New Zealand while Special Guests, Pearl Jam will join Rocco and the Devils for December 9 in Honolulu.
These show dates are rescheduled following the postponement of Vertigo//2006 earlier in the year. For full ticket information in your area please see below.
“We are very happy to announce the rescheduling and appreciate everyone’s patience.†said Arthur Fogel, of TNA.
The Vertigo Tour opened in San Diego in March 2005, is set for a grand finish in Hawaii with the addition of Pearl Jam.
“It’s going to be a great night in Hawaii,†said Paul McGuinness, U2’s manager. “The band are really pleased Pearl Jam could join the bill, a great end to what has already been a very successful tour.â€

I don't quite know how to feel about this one.
On one hand, I've been hoping to get out there for this show(s) and U2 is an added bonus. On the other hand, a shortened PJ set plus the fact that U2 likes the big-ass stadiums makes me doubt it.
Anyone have any thoughts or info on any more possible PJ/Hawaii, either with U2 or, preferably alone?

You'd be better off going to Kaui actually.
I heard there's not much to do in Kaui. When I was in Maui in April we snorkeled in front of Tiger Woods's house and davi5 bowie's house.
Well, Paris Hilton doesn't own a house to swim in front in Kauai but it's one of, if not the richest islands in the world (in terms of vegetation) and the mountain peak in the center of the island is the wettest spot in the world. The island actually has an impressive canyon to visit as well, not too mention some fucking nice beaches but that’s to be expected since it’s part of Hawaii.
Yeah, but how was the actual snorkling as in the water clarity and the amount of visible sea life?

I highly recommend the guides at MauiKayak.com. We had a local hawaiian as our guide and his 3 year old son. We saw tons of fish and sea life. We snorkeled at a sea turtle cleaning station and we saw a 6 foot shark. We also saw a sea lion sleeping next to Bowie's house.
We went hiking in the rainforest and then the next day we hiked in the volcano at Haleakala. We also took surfing lessons. It was a non-stop week of fun for us. Next time I get back I'd like to get over to Kanai and do some mountain biking.

haven't been to maui but definitely second the Kaui recommendation... superduper laid back, beautiful - it's fucking Hawaii! Napali coast boat tour was one of our highlights. that and the mai tai's mixed w/guava juice. mmmmm.... guava....

um...that's neat. But you say there is not much to do in Kauai? that is ricockulous. That is hands down the most beautiful island. You do not need to DO anything. I will crush Kauai for a few days and before or after that hit up the show/s.
Please stay away from Kauai....it is not meant for touring van.
U2 will play Aloha stadium in Honolulu, HI on Saturday, December 9th. Those holding tickets for the previously scheduled April 8 U2 concert can use their tickets for this show. Any tickets that are returned will go on sale to the general public on August 5th at the Aloha Stadium ticket office and Ticketmaster.
Sorry, there will be no Ten Club ticket privileges for this show.
