11-3 #2 seed.
yet, when the eagles win close it's "character building"
when the falcons win close it's "luck"
Michael Vick. 4th and 12, no time left... drops back to the 20 oh, there's a hole in the middle of the field.....TOUCHDOWN!!!! the knee dosen't touch, he flys over the goal line, he's 24-11 to start his career.....yet still people focus on the negative. Fuck it. GO FALCONS. Only our 3rd division title in history. Warrick Dunn came through as well with 134 yeards all in all a wonderful game to watch Saturday night if you are a football fan.
For all the folks that hate Mike Vick, he's got nearly 3000 yards passing and close to 1,000 rushing. Thanks, that is all.

Michael Vick is amazing. No doubt.
The big question for the Falcons is, can the rest of the team produce when it's needed?
this season has been a resounding yes.
Vick despite having nearly 3K yards passing is still not comfortable throwing to anyone besides Alge Crumpler (who catches anything tossed within 5 yards of him) TJ Duckett has stepped up when asked, Warrick Dunn, The Atlanta Defense has kept them in every game except Kansas City and Tampa. The defensive line especially Rod Coleman, Patrick Kerney and Brady Smith have been beasts this year.
The biggest worry for the falcons right now is losing Justin Griffith an excellent all around fullback and Duckett is out for another week. The next problem is obviously getting Peerless Price/Michael Jenkins involved and catching the ball. Can they win without Vick? I don't know. I hope so but I hope they don't have to.

At this point it looks like they will either play the Vikings or Packers in their first play-off game at home. Personally, I think that they could handle both of those teams. The Vikings would have a better shot considering the game is on turf, but i think the FAlcons will make it to the Championship game.

He's not a very good QB. look at his passing numbers. There is no doubt that he is an amazing runner but that won't get it done especially since they will be playing on the road and not in the dome.

Passing numbers don't make a good qb. His numbers basically suck but he wins games. Just look at his teams record when he starts. I think it's like 22-6. He puts the team on his back and does whatever it takes to win. If Sunday nights game wasn't evidence i don't know what is. I think he's a top 5 QB right now, he just does so much and he just wins

Also, to have won this many games in the 1st year of this new offense is amazing. Like I said earlier Alex Gibbs is going to turn this OL into one of the best. Look out.

yeah that's what all the Eagles fans were crying about 4 years ago and at the draft with Mcnabb.
2 full years in the league Two completely different offenses , 24-11 so far. That's the only important stat anyway right?
Wouldn't you trade Mcnabb having Peyton's stats for one NFC championship win?
Yeah, Vick won't get it done on the road in Lambeu in his first full year in the league.
They lost to Philly because he was playing with 2 seperated shoulders, he had no kind of running game, no kind of line, and no shred of defense behind him. This year it's clearly a little different.
I still think the Eagles are a better team overall but all the injuries kind of even that up. Regardless I'm not saying the Falcons are better than anyone untill they prove it. I'm extremely excited to get the buy and division title and hope for the best. I think they can hang with anyone, no one gave the Panthers a shot last season either.

No I look at the position. Is he a good runner yes but a horrible passer right now. He is not a top 5 QB
Manning Brady McNabb Culpepper Pennington and maybe Favre
I would take all them over Vick
I don't care if you call him a wing back or a tailback that sometimes passes. His first 2 full seasons (2002,2004) the falcons are in the playoffs and they are hella fun to watch.
nearly 3000 passing and 1000 rushing, the first since Cunningham to approach 1000 rushing. I'd love to be able to see an Eagles/Falcons remach in the NFC championship but they have to get there first.
As long as there is a great defense behind him and a great running game, Vick dosen't have to be stellar and perfect like Manning or Brady.
Alex Gibbs, Great schemer for the running game and good scheme for pass blocking, however with the garbage he has to work with there's not much he can do. having awful people like Kevin Schaffer out there at tackle certainly hinder Vick's ablity to find recievers.
I'm still extremely happy to have a guy that can always win close games
It's nice to be playing meaningful games in January.

In the playoffs he does. Every mistake is magnified in the playoffs. You cannot commit turnovers and win in the playoffs. And I am by no means a Vick hater. I love the guy. The only jerseys I own that are not guys on any of my teams are Pat Tillman and Mike Vick.

And for those reason I wouldn't consider him great, we'll see what he can do in the playoffs.

Vick > Pennington.
I agree with Clubber--passing stats don't tell the whole story. Nor do physical aspects in general, you have to have the mental toughness and the will to win. Sunday Night is just one piece of evidence that Vick has that.

Micheal Vick is a great athlete, he is not a great quarterback yet. I dont see how he could be overrated, seeing how his team has made the play-offs both seasons he has been healty. And i dont think anyone would put him ahead of Manning or McNabb. The reason that he doesnt have a lot of passing yards is because the Falcons lead the NFL in rushing.

I guess I feel he is overrated because he is always talked about in the terms of how amazing he is. I just see him as a heartbreaker, so much talent and potential but yet he won't live up to it.

He's in his what, 4th year?
How or why will he not live up to his potential?

They way everyone thus far has talked about Vick is how great he is and what an unbelievable talent he is. I don't think that will get him to a Super Bowl, thus not living up to the hype.

The hype has to do with how great he is, not if he wins a super bowl. when he came into the league it was his talent that people were hyping. I see it as two different things. He is living up to the hype as far as how talented he is and what he can do on the field. I don't remember much hype about him coming in and winning super bowls right away
