can someone tell me what the red, white, and blue bullseye sticker ed has on his guitar? by the way, i've been lovin pearl jam since the first album came out back in the early 90's. basically, me and my wife have always loved them and never missed a show here in pittsburgh since then.
i'm considering a tattoo with some sort of pearl jam meaning and i don't want to have an obvious one such as the stick man. the album which basically made me pick up a guitar and learn how to play was yield. i've been jammin ever since then. this band is to me in a way what the beatles were back in the day to that generation. any suggestions would be appreciated.

The sticker is a Who logo without the words.

LOTS of ideas in there. Though I do say only to go with something that YOU decide and that YOU like. If nothing jumps out at you, don't settle for something, just wait until you find that right one.

i checked it all out...thank you. i am trying to customize one for myself unlike any other i've seen. i just needed some ideas, that's all. i'm leaning towards a celtic cross on my upper arm with a tribal yield as it's center and making it red and white. and getting the lyrics somewhere else....everything has changed, absolutely nothings changed. thanks for the help. any other ideas or comments would be appreciated.

It's not a "Who" symbol. It is the badge for the Royal Air Force or RAF. It was adopted by Mods in the 60s as a symbol for what it means to be a "mod". Lots of bands/artists use the target/RAF logo. A few just off the top of my head are Ben Harper, Built To Spill, Guided By Voices, Pulp, and The Jam.

As I only recently learned, the lyric is "everything has chains..."

As for the RAF symbol, I never knew that. But I do suspect the connection to the Who plays a part on it being on his guitar.

Yip. It is the symbol for all things mod. the Who were probably the first to use it. The Kinks and The Jam also used it. It was profously used mainly in the seventies and late sixties.

What's a "mod"? All I know is the mod chip I got for my Xbox, and those weren't around in the 60s.

From Wikipedia:

"Mod (or, to use its full name, Modernism or sometimes Modism) was a youth lifestyle based around fashion and music that developed in London, England in the late 1950s and reached its peak in the early to mid 1960s. People who followed this lifestyle were known as Mods, and were mainly found in Southern England."

so if you were young and liked music and clothes you were a mod? That seems to cover an awful lot of ground

maybe eddie screaming into the mic would be original. the best spot would probably be the back top right corner makes sense.

P.S. %))!

the clothes were like a uniform, like punk kids with the mohawks and safety pins. it identifies you as part of a subculture. the main thing with mods was the harrington jackets (black, with a checkered inner lining) and a certain fringed haircut. go look up old photos of paul weller and the jam on the net and you'll see it. (kinda like the gallagher brothers from oasis' haircuts). white shirts and skinny black ties were also mandatory fashion wear.
another subculture at the time was the teddy boys. them and the mods were sworn enemies (bit like punkers and metal fans used to be). the music of choice for the mods was the likes of the who and the jam and perhaps the kinks.
their symbol was the target you see on ed's guitar. i think it's nicknamed a 'vespa' after the vespa motor bikes the mods used to ride around.

The lyric is "Everything has chains, absolutely nothing's changed".
Don't go getting the wrong lyrics permanently imprinted on your body! :D
