First up, if this is in the wrong forum I apologize.

Right, so heres the situation. New Zealand had their name on the tour program, so a lot of us down here were excited we were gonna get our 1st show since 98. As a result, we thought there was no need to go to Australia if we were gonna catch them.
Now it turns out, because the stadium they were going to be booked in for, isnt likely to be ready for November. So the word is that they will skip us completely..why? The thing is that Australia had official word well before us, and tickets are now all sold out...so its tough to be able to go there now. We've had nothing official at all come from 10C about the possibility, and have had to live off rumours. The venue that is still being built is a 13,000 seat covered venue, but arent PJ playing stadiums/GA in Europe/US? We have plenty of those they can play, like U2 playing in our rugby stadium.
So basically I was wondering why they couldnt play another venue like I said just above, and if they had been doing so on the tour at the moment. If it sounds like a whinging post its really not, im just frustrated because Ive never seen them and its something ive been looking forward to so much.

That is fucked up. I'd be emailing Ten Club or, better yet, getting a petition going and then mailing that to them. Coz now, even though flights between Aust and NZ aren't expensive you guys were banking on a NZ show or two. Trying to buy tickets now to Aust leaves you with, at best, shitty seats. I hope something happens.

Cheers, yeah I dont wanna seem like a bitter fan I just had my heart set on it. There was talk of a petition with a few people ive been talking to but they always seem demanding and pushy. Im gonna email Ten Club and just see what the story is.
Flights arent bank breaking, but they're a hell of an effort if youre a student. But in saying that, if I hadve known there was no NZ shows I wouldve booked to Aussie.

Exactly, and that is what I would say. It would suck being in your positon. At least with my study, I can then just go to some close cities! Good luck.

Shit. I had tickets for Oz and had everything sorted for around $400, but then someone said they were coming here so I never went through with it.
Oh I am pissed right now.

I'll get over it. I was so excited. It would have been my first chance to see them live as well.

I can only hope they tour again....

Shit dudes - that really sucks the big one. I sincerely hope something comes out of this for ya.

I was planning on going to the Melbourne shows but for various reasons had to settle for just Perth, and with the Perth announcement delayed and me having a small fit as to whether it was actually gonna go ahead or not and wonderring if I was actually gonna get to see them at all.....Anyways, I feel your pain.

Good luck.

But it's not announced there will be no tour either, is it? It would only be fair if they'd try and play New Zealand, no matter in what venue(s)...

groetjes,
Mirella :) (pretty disappointed with the amount of concerts in the Netherlands -1- and the venue here)

You still have time. Hopefully you'll get one. or just fly to hawaii and see them with U2. How expensive could it be--same ocean and all.

How could they not go to NZ? It is by far the most beautiful place I've ever been, and the people there are so great... I'd do a show there before most of the places that they usually hit

Three hrs to Melbourne/Sydney or Brisbane. And much more $ than I could afford.
I feel for guys like Phox too, who saw our name on the tour program so didnt spend the $ on going over the ditch. Id say it is pretty official, ive had a pretty damn reliable source who has been ahead of everyone on announcements and also broke this one before I heard it on radio.
I guess I can empathise with the South now, but still id hop in a car and drive to Australia if it was possible..is it the same sorta cost involved over there as id have?
Oh well my stickers from 10C turned up...consolation?

NZ shows are unlikely because PJ don't give a flying fuck about anyone outside the US. Period.

I really feel for you guys, I thought you'd get dates for sure and maybe you still will. And your right, Sout America had GA shows and so is Europe. I'd email Ten Club and be a pain in the A until there's no hope. Also a petition is a great idea. I too am disappointed with the festival only shows in the UK, I mean after 6 years and that's all we get. I was gonna go to Europe but Fan Club tix went like that, and to top it off some people got like 10+ shows on their membership. I've been a member since 93, seen PJ all over the world and apart from getting GA tix to Wembley shows that's all the benefits ticket wise I've got. Okay I coulda used it for NYC and Boston 3 2003 but there were 3 of us and we wanted to be together.
I really hope you get a show good luck

And while we're at it, why aren't they playing the south?
