I have a complaint and I'm not sure if anything can be done or will be done about it. I have been seeing a lot of threads lately discussing how to cheat on drug tests. I know this is an open forum, but it seems like the kind of thing that doesn't need to be brought up all of the time on a Pearl Jam message board.
The last time I checked, illegal drugs are still illegal and trying to cheat on a drug test is also still illegal. In my opinion, discussion about it should be kept off the message boards, just like talking about distributing copywritten material (improperly) is blocked. I like free speech just like any other guy, but this kind of stuff shouldn't have to be put up with in the public forums.
I have donated money to the site previously, since I believe it is a forum worthy of being kept up. It is kind of annoying when other threads are being locked due to their stupidity, but the "drug test threads" continue for pages and pages. I am simply suggesting that maybe the moderators and webmasters might consider blocking this stuff from the public forums.

By my count, I think none of us are regular smokers (although one or two of us may smile on our pasts ).
My personal feeling is that it is a free speech issue. There are literally hundreds of websites out there discussing this topic, because discussion of it (and cleaning out one's bloodstream of toxins) is not in and of itself illegal. Unlike sharing copyrighted materials, which when discovered on websites the sites are shut down.
I will do what I can to merge all of teh threads into one, and I'm sure we'll end up discussing this amongst the mods, but I think it would be hypocritical of us to shut down discussion of this topic.

seriously, wtf?
you dont think its a smidge weird that you cant call someone a pickled dick bag, but can go into great detail how to beat a drug test?
I'm glad someone shares the POV... but since my values are apparently transparent to a lot of people on here, it's probably time to move on. I've issued my "Retirement Statement" on the general discussion board.

On behalf of the financiers of the site, allow me to thank you for your contributions. It is a matter of free speech, and as much as I do not approve of the topic in question, I do feel there's some benefit in people discussing it openly.

Technically, discussing drug tests is not illegal, nor is discussing illegal file sharing. Last I checked, the discussion of illegal file sharing isn't moderated at all unless there are actually means provided whereby people can actually get copyrighted material via the board (links to media files, torrents, etc). I don't think I've seen any discussions regarding torrent sites, torrent programs, evading detection, etc., get stopped.
