What are the best volumes of Dick's Picks? I'm guessing most of the late 60s/early 70s stuff is all golden. I'm downloading a few right now.
Also, last year I heard a very very amped-up Dead performance from the late 70s. I think it was from Dick's Picks, but it was deleted from my computer. Very loud and feedback-heavy. Would anybody here know which one that was by any chance?

Pearl Jam is getting closer with this tour. But I remember going to GD shows in the early 90's and getting a printout of all the different songs they sang on the summer tour and they were up in the 120's. I think PJ is closer to 100 (which is amazing cause Ed sings 99% of the songs).

I also highly recomend subscribing to the Dead podcast on iTunes. It's done by a professor from MO, and he does an hour show each week with really choice shows.
Go to bt.etree and just hop on the show with the most seeders, can't really go wrong that way as well.
If your hellbent on a Dick's Picks I'll say:
Dick's Picks Vol. 12: Providence Civic Center, 6/26/74
I love 74
Dick's Picks 15 CD (9/3/77)
77, enough said.

volume 27 has a cover of tomorrow knows if your interested in that, but the rest of it is only mediocre compared to the rest. It's pretty hard to go wrong with a DP, but i personally would recommend staying away from shows with a majority of stupid ass songs like samson and delilia and ramble on rose with poor jams.
