The Slip are pretty good. Hard to describe their style. Can go from rock, to jazz and anything in between. To really get a sense of their abilities, check out AliveElectric and AliveAcoustic. Two live discs, but totally different. I think they are culled from the same tour too. Def, should check them out.

I saw these guys because Apollo Sunshine was opening, I thought they were pretty good live act, but after about 40 minutes of jamband I got bored and my friends wanted to find another bar to get drunk at. We left.

what should i check out first?
jim, check out the link i put up in this thread for a good show, especially tracks 'soft machine' and 'children of december'. its hard to recommend an album, because they have changed so much in the past 10 years. their new album isnt going to sound like any of their old releases. however, i really like alivelectric and aliveacoustic - two live albums, the first all intrumentals, and the second all acoustic songs.
I saw them this past New Years Eve in Brooklyn. The played a fucking killer set, it was really long. We left at 330 and they were still going off. I know I would of liked them a lot more if I was into kind of into jamming. I kind of found them to be pretty masturbatory at times. They were fun to see, they just wore me out. I do regret seeing them instead of the Black Lips who were playing across town.
I remember seeing them back in 03 at small festival in masys. and being really impressed and that was probably due to my condition. I remember they did a cover of Baba was pretty interesting.
