would you vote in Mark MgGwire? Any chance we can get a poll on this one? Would you not vote him in next year but vote him in 2008? Just curious what people here would do

I would. I wouldnt think twice either, and I cannot come up with one reason to justify that, I just believe he deserves to be in. I think Im a bad person
I'm leaning towards yes, but I would have to do some research first. Has it ever been proven that he used steroids while in baseball? I mean, I assume that he has, but I don't recall there being hard evidence. Without more, I can't see justifying a "no" vote.

They weren't illegal at the time, but he did use performance enhancing drugs.

But it's not his fault they were legal at the time. How should a player know where to draw the line other than to accept the line that the league has drawn for him?

the pics of him from the hearing complete the circle.

I say let him in eventually...but keep him out for a while to make an example of him.

I don't care whether or not they were legal. I care about the manner in which he accumulated numbers that supposedly are to be compared with other Hall-of-Famers.

That's the most important point.

It's a hard decision because where do you draw the line? Do you not vote anyone in from that 10 year period. If there's no 100 percent proof than wouldn't it be the ultimate form of subjectivity? What if someone who is thought to be clean is voted in, then turns out to have cheated with new evidence. It's a slippery slope boys and girls.

Sosa is another guy that's going to run into this. Same with Raffy who might never get in since he actually failed a test and wasn't liked around baseball anyway.

I can handle almost any statement on the matter besides the,"They weren't illegal in baseball" retort. That one really makes me cringe. Besides that i can see anybody making a rational judgement for either side. Personally, I wouldn't vote for him cause I have such a beef about steroids. I think it's just killing sports right now and i would be crushed if I lost my love of sports because of these assholes who have no pride. However, if he came out and told the truth about everything it might have a domino affect with more players coming clean and having remorse for what they did. It could have a really positive affect and clean a lot of sports out. MgGwire is a big enough name to do this and people might end up thanking him 5 years down the road. After that he'd get my vote

If he really wanted to be in this is what he has to do. Be a man and admit it.
