I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, it's been all over the Canadian press all week. Its over now, but here's the coles notes version:

Man has repeat offenses dating back to 1993 including rape, abduction, etc with children. Spends the next 13 years in and out of prison for various charges. It becomes a big game of cat and mouse as police continually try to catch him BEFORE he can harm any children, and because they usually succeed before he commits a major crime, he never spends much time in jail. Pshychiatrists label him as a direct threat to society, yet they can't keep him in jail. Fast forward to last week when he abducts two boys and goes on the run. Police catch up to him at a farmhouse in Regina after a farmer recognizes his van and one boy manages to escape. Police move in and get the second boy out safely and arrest the pedophile...happy ending.

But my point here is that the system KNEW he was going to re-offend but there is nothing they can do to stop it. It's a fucking shame that they have to wait for this guy to kill someone before putting him away for life. It's obvious that he is not willing to reform and that as long as he is free he will be a danger to everyone around him. If there were ever a prime candidate for chemical castration i'd say it would be this guy.

I don't understand that.

The guy has been convicted of kidnapping and rape. They know he is a predator that has not changed. It seems to me that they would have legitimate evidence to keep him in jail.

As far as the chemical castration thing goes, I see no problem with that if it actually works. I don't know that much about it. Does it really completely curb all these violent sexual tendancies. It seems that these things would be so ingrained in these peoples psyches that it would be hard to stop them.

Personally, if i had uncontrolable urges to do that type of thing to people, i would WANT to be chemically castrated if it would help me stop.

I think the problem is that the system is actually working too well. From what i've read he has done a long stint or 2 in jail (6 years for one i think) but they are keeping such a close eye on him that they are nabbing him for little things, just to keep him off the street. Unfortunately you can't jail a man for life because he is a potential danger to children, no matter how imminent. Admittedly though i don't know enough about Canadian law to elaborate but it seems like the police have been doing all they can to keep up with this guy.

I don't honestly know how effective it is either. That article doesn't seem to think so, and it also seems that it's only a temporary measure that requires a weekly dosage.

Cut his dick off and make him eat it. Then shoot him in the head and be done with it.

Child molestors should serve life or have their nuts chopped off. I think that's a perfectly reasonable solution to the world's pedophilia problems. I'm still out on the child porn issue though.

i don't think my nuts are giving me a hard on, its a blood rush to the stick that does it, yeah eliminate the whole thing for predators.

You aren't going to get a hard on without nuts. Your testicles are what produce testosterone. Without that, you aren't getting an erection. You will lose all sexual desire, too.

This just doesn't seem like a safe bet to me, though. There is a lot of damage someone could do without using there penis. And there are instances of women pedophiles out there, so that tells me that castration really wouldn't solve it.

and lets cut the hands of anyone that steals and kill anyone who kills!
