It seems to cut off the opening bit when you actually get the voicemail, but it still achieves its purpose.

That's because the message starts when someone picks up the phone, and if your voicemail picks up it doesn't wait for the beep.

Hmmm...but I tested it by sending one to myself and it went straight to voicemail without ringing. Of course, my phone may just suck.
