I recently came across a free Sega Dreamcast. I was at a video game store the other day and a kid who worked there was telling me how easy Dreamcast games are to pirate. He said that mod chips and whatnot are not necessary. All you need is some blank cds and the files and you are good to go. He also claimed that it was legal to do with Dreamcast, which I don't understand.

Anyway...anyone know where I can get some good DC torrents?

You don't need a mod chip, but some games may still need a boot disk.

Boot disc meaning a regular Dreamcast game?

Wasn't that SEGA's version of the original playstation and N64? I never played it, did it have good games?

Not too many. It does have really good fighting games, good sports games (although old now), a fantastic rpg (shenmue) and some cheap thrill games here and there. You can find a DC online for dirt cheap if you want one and you just download the games if you want.

And believe it or not...DC is in the 128 bit generation in competition with ps2, gcn and xbox. Saturn was the one with N64 and PS1.

I really don't know what it is. I just remember that a few of my friend's burned games needed you to first load up a boot disc, open the console, put in the game disk, and continue. You can probably find it to download if it's a place with other Dreamcast stuff.

All the pirated games need a boot program to load it up first. The thing is you come across some that don't have the boot program built into the Cd, so you'll have to use a seperate boot disk (which you can download off many of those sites you get the games from i'm sure) But either way your DC will have no problem playing burnt games.

Do you download torrents of games for your DC? If so, can you lead me to some solid torrents for Power Stone 2 and SF Alpha 3? They are the only games I've tried burning that haven't worked.

I got a hold of a boot disc and they still won't work :(

Power Stone for DC is some fun shit, as is Virtua Tennis, which you should definitely get if you haven't.

You can also download games/emulators for, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, etc. and play them on your DC. On one 700MB disc you can put a system's emulator and a shit load of roms that you can switch off and on to play. I'm mad I got rid of my DC.
