The World Junior Hockey Championship is starting up again on Christmas Day. I have had too much time to follow it lately, but without the NHL, it looks like it's all I'll have for a while.

GO CANADA!!!

You're lucky you didn't post a picture of Bill Guerin.

Dan Bertram of BC didn't make the Canadian team, i couldn't believe that . He's a spectacular player. The Schneider kid from BC is on the US team, though. Is this tournament on TV anywhere?

Ray Bourque's son is on the American team too. I don't like that. Bourque is such a great Canadian icon and his son is American just because he played for Boston.

Who do you think Bourque will cheer for?

I wonder if he had a choice. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have made Team Canada. The only reason I wonder is because Kent Nilsson's (played mostly for Calgary in 80s) son was born in Calgary and is playing for Team Sweden. Maybe Nilsson has dual citizenship and Chris Bourgue does not. Anyway, I think it will be a great tournament. I'm looking forward to seeing Crosby and Ovechkin play. I don't think the US will be able to defend the title. Canada has a stacked team, with Crosby and Patrice Bergeron, I don't see how they can't win it all. Unless Montoya gets a shutout every game.

I hope they televise it. I've never seen Sidney Crosby play.

Well, if his play through most of the season is any indication, I don't see that happening. He's not playing awful by any means, but his numbers haven't been fantastic.

Heh. Adam Pineault made team USA, and I don't think BC ever actually let him play.

It'll all be televised here. Canada absolutely dominated their first exhibition game against the Finns, 6-0. Bergeron and Crosby had 3 points each. Good start. Can't wait until it REALLY starts.

sid crosby is incredible.

canada is stacked, they have 3 lines that can get it done.
bergeron and crosby on the same line
their d-men are great too.
who will play in goal for canada?
glass?

i hope to see us/canada in the finals with the us
pulling off an incredible upset.
russia should be tough too

Yeah I get up to about 2-3 regular season games per season, plus the beanpot and the regionals and the Frozen Four. Obviously last year wasn't much of a trip because it was only in Boston, but it was still fun. That Maine-Denver third period was unreal, so much fun. We're headed to Columbus this year, which is going to be a ton of fun.
