I recently watched:
Altman also did MASH, Nashville, The Player, Gosford Park, and recently A Prairie Home Companion. He's great at working with huge casts, and his camera work is very signature. Lots of panning/movement/zooms.
Short Cuts is about 3 hours long, it's based on a book that's made of several different stories that take place in the suburbs of Los Angeles. 3 Women is a little more creepy and surreal about some women who work at a spa in the Arizona desert. Both are Criterion DVDs.

i don't really know what else to say here. it's one of the most well-made films i've ever seen.

I guess this is as good as any for an all-purpose Altman thread. I love this guy. I'm trying to finish seeing all his best known stuff. McCabe and Mrs. Miller was the last one I saw and it was great.
