It's been awhile since I picked up a Madden title. The truth is it got to a point where it became a little too much for me, but maybe I'm falling victim to the hype or just getting sick of watching preseason football, but I want '07.
I guess what I'm asking here is, how do some of you play it?
What teams do you use?
Do you just play seasons or franchises?
Do you make super teams with created players, free agents, and trades and just play on all-madden?
There is probably a lot I'm missing here, and maybe this could be the official madden 07 thread, but I just would like to hear peoples thoughts on playing Madden.

i usually will play franchise, get about halfway through a season, and quit... a month later i will feel like playing again and do the same thing... of course, i do this with any game... but to your Q, i'd say most people play franchises
The Cowboys, and then after that, it depends on how I like their jerseys and their QB. I'll go Ravens sometimes, sometimes I'll go with the Fins. Just depends. I'll probably give the Vikings a spin this year so I can check out their new threads.

Franchise. Always. Single seasons are retarded.

Making trades, picking up free agents and tweaking my roster is one of my favorite things about the game. Just adds to it, IMO. These days you can't really "make" a super team just by trading a picking up FAs. You can get better, no doubt, but it'll take you a few seasons before you're really good like that. The game's salary cap system and the competitive balance thing kick in pretty quick.

Madden is, in my opinion, the single greatest video game ever created. The things it offers (including the superstar mode, which allows you to take your dude through the combine, the draft and onto a team) are heaven for a football fan. I've had a Madden game in some form every year since 1995, and this year will be no different.
In summary, you can do no wrong with a Madden title. Pick it up and enjoy.

I don't really play. I pick a team that isn't that good, try and build through the draft and free agency, and see if they can get better within ten years. I play more like the GM.

Franchise only. As for how do I play the game......well that usually consists of me screaming at the tv the entire game and comments like, "Whatever you stupid game" when things don't go my way. Which happens a lot since I refuse to play on any level other than all madden and I demand perfection. Those two things do not mix well. Then the game usually ends with me either: A) Jumping up in anger and turning off the game (usually by jabbing the button 10 or more times in anger) or B) Throwing something at the television screen. That game could probably move me to kill someone. Seriously, I MUST take breaks from it to keep from having an aneurysm due to extreme anger. But no matter how mad it makes me I cannot get over my addiction to it. It is the single greatest game known to mankind. No game has been a part of my life longer then the madden series.
