Not sure how many other Tool fans we have on this board ... but I'm assuming there's alot since Tool f'n RULES

Anyway, I went back and listened to Aenima again last week and I haven't taken it out of my CD player yet ... my LORD this album f'n rules.

I remember when it came out ... for me it changed the game for what metal could be. I think it's right up there with the best albums of the 90s.

Anyway there you have it ... Aenima is the best Tool album (Undertow comes close). I like all their albums for different reasons ... but just for pure listening pleasure, I don't think anything else beats it.

Aenima is the best, but undertow is close. Agreed on all counts

I'm not a fan of most of the filler on Aenima, but in terms of a collection of songs, lordy thats an amazing record.

I agree with anemia.

I would rank them as follows:
anemia
lateralius
undertow
10,0000 days

It is hard to rate opiate next to the others becasue it is an ep.

I haven't heard 10,000 Days.

But I would rate Anemia as their best with Lateralus and Undertow jostling for #2 and Opiate right behind them.

don't listen to 10,000 days, just pretend it doesn't exist. It blows and it may ruin your opinion of the band. Aenima is the shit though

I like the one where Maynard screams a lot.

Aenima has better individual songs, but Lateralus is the better album. It's a fucking unstoppable monster.

...i also think Aenima is the best. Lateralus a close second. And that's it, I couldn't care less about the others.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up for me as well.

Lateralus is like a train going by at 99 mph that punches you in the face, and then fondles your nuts afterwards, leaving you confused and shy, but overwhelmingly satisfied.
