Posting new songs for people who aren't my friends/family is always an intimidating venture because strangers owe me nothing. You lose that obligation that family and friends seem to always bind themselves to. This should be interesting.
I'll preface this by saying I'm not a great vocalist, and there's a note or two in the chorus that I either need to rewrite or I'm just hitting a little off on.
This has no drums by design, at least for now. Oh, and I threw in a little nod to "No Way" in there on the bridge.
Grab my hand, surround me
Only if you swear to shove my face into the ground
Hold me then reject me
You promised yourself this was just messing around
-
Sometime I'd love to feel you
So far away and so near
If I had a hope, I'd say you smashed it
Grabbed it and robbed it from me
-
Waste your sweet breath on me
If only you knew, but there's no way you'd think of that
Smile wide, entrap me
Keep telling yourself "no way that things could be so bad"
-
Chorus
-
We all say, it's not easy being me
-
Grab my hand surround me
Only if you swear to shove my face into the ground
-
Sometime I'd love to feel you
So far away and yet so near

its recorded really nice, so it sounds good that way. I think the song itself is kinda bland though, not really my style anyways.
I'd have to disagree with you though, I've always thought showing stuff to family/friends is usually more intimidating.
Fair enough. It's not really the type of song I'd normally write...I think that's why I'm fond of it.
As for family and friends, it always seems my family and friends always have positive things to say about whatever music I'm doing. I do find my musician friends to be a little more intimidating to show things to than my non-musician friends.

hey good job man
i too am a musician, and this is sort of in the ballpark of what i write....you use a little more lead guitar than me though
i thougth it was really cool....very calm rythym guitar, and a nice melody for the vocals (which you should turn the volume up on)...the lead guitar was also pretty cool, especially in the verses....and right before the chorus, you had that little funky fill, really cool (again, not my type of thing, but that is why i liked it)....you're obviously very talented, keep writing and keep posting it on here
