I was a bit afraid to post the link/thread, cause I haven't been active in the PJ community for a while and didn't know if this is still rare or not but I guess it's all good.

I've seen this before. Apparently the director was hurt when they went with the video we all know instead of his. He kinda of alluded the band selling out to MTV and a more flashy video.

From what I understand, it wasn't the band's decision, but Sony's. The band liked this version more than the one everyone has seen, and Eddie had specifically asked the guy to make this version. Sony wasn't going to let it happen though.

Which I don't understand, because this version is nowhere near as disturbing as the one Sony released. Aside from the shot of the gun towards the end, this is pretty tame stuff, especially by 1992 MTV standards.

Yeah, but the original featured the band a lot more and didn't turn it into the Ed Vedder solo video. And you know Ed's feelings on that.

You mean Ed is a publicity whore? I don't believe that for a second.

I think it had more to do with the band getting some no-name director to make the video, and Sony wanted someone who had done it before.
Atleast that's what I remember from Five Against One.
