its just my opinion, and maybe Im reaching a bit, but we all know MLB has messed with the balls before (the post 94 strike years HR parade were not ALL steroid related)....

but this year it seems like there are way less HR being hit by the big guys, minus a few ungodly sluggers who'd hit 40 in any era....but I look around at some guys who usually have big HR totals and they are off.

someone look up the HR totals of this year and the last few yrs and tell me if Im way off base here? am I crazy? or have I been watching too many Dodger games where HR are few and far between....

I do believe you said it best when you referred to our RF as "Nancy Drew".

J.D. Drew is third among NL right fielders in OPS in a pitchers' park. :|

As someone who watches Tex on an almost daily basis, it's not just his power that's sapped. He strikes out a ton w/ runners on and his plate discipline is shot to hell. I wouldn't be surprised if he just got off the roids, but the issues he's having with his game this season go far beyond HR hitting ability.

this justifies his 55 million dollar salary along with 12 measly home runs and 77 RBI to two people in this universe:

1. you

2. Paul Depodesta

and one of you got shitcanned for paying 55 million for impressive OPS :)

Would you rather have Shawn Green?

Depodesta was also ripped apart mercilessly for the Mota/Lo Duca for Penny trade. Would you like to have that one back, too?

And, actually, Drew's OPS isn't very impressive. National League right fielders just suck. He's actually second among them right now I think, since Abreu is in the AL. But Drew hasn't been bad by any stretch. I would think your ire would be pointed more in someone else's direction, like Yhency's.

you havent watched Drew play this year though, I have. The other night Maddux was cruising in the 5th when Drew barely jogged after a shallow fly ball and watched it drop in front of him, which led to a 4 run inning.

And not to beat a dead horse, but Paul Depodesta took a 94 win division winner and in one offseason turned it into a 95 loss dead last place team. He gave Drew and his injury riddled body 55 mill, gave head case Derek Lowe gobs of money, then backed up his new SINKER ball pitcher by losing a gold glove caliber 3B and breaking up the best double play combo in the NL, thought Hee Suck Choi was more than the garbage he is, and let Beltre walk without even talking to his agent while lying to the fans that he was doing everything to resign him.

but lest not get into that stuff again its all past. lets just agree Nancy Drew is not a very good player. at least not for 55 mill?
