LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) According to NBC, more than 203 million viewers watched part of the network's epic coverage of the 2004 Olympics from Athens. According to the Federal Communications Commission, at least nine of those people were offended by what they saw. Thanks to the wonders of the Freedom of Information Act, the FCC has unveiled those complaints.
One third of the complaints stemmed from an incident at the end of a women's volleyball match. It's unclear how many thousand or million of viewers were watching the coverage, but three of them are convinced that they heard one of the competitors utter a four-letter word beginning with "f" which isn't even acceptable for use on your higher end basic cable networks like FX.
"Not only is this a display of bad sportsmanship, it is also a blatant obscenity on national TV," one viewer complains, according to The Washington Post. The troubled soul also notes, "my children saw an exposed breast during the opening ceremonies."
In addition to randomly spotted mammaries, the Opening Ceremonies also included a hint of male genitalia, as seen through the eyes of at least one viewer.
"First we had to be subjected to the breast of Janet Jackson in the Superbowl an [sic] now an even more gratuitous display of pornography an [sic] indecency during what was suppose [sic] to be another family viewing event," the sports fan notes.
At least one letter was troubled by an NBC featurette showing how swimmer Amanda Beard had grown from a nervous 14-year-old competing at the 1996 Atlanta Games into a lad mag pin-up girl who would win medals and eventual make a guest starring appearance on FOX's "Quintuplets." Others were bothered by NBC promos for an "Exorcist" prequel and for the short-lived animated series "Father of the Pride."
The FCC asked NBC for tapes of Olympics coverage earlier this month. The regulatory body has yet to announce whether or not it will act on the complaints. NBC says that the network didn't receive a single indecency complaint during the Olympics.
ALL BECAUSE 9 PEOPLE OUT OF 203 MILLION FOUND SOMEHTING OFFENSIVE. WHAT ELSE IS NEW?
This cannot be real...seriously now, how stupid would it be to file a formal complaint against NBC because of nine people thinking they heard or saw something "indecent".
If they want indecent, they should tune into Fox's new show, "who's your daddy".

Once again, people blame the networks for something completely beyong their control. I guess, technically, they can edit the clips, but it's not like the profanity or nudity is conspicuous. This is the crap you only notice if you watch it over and over, looking for it.
These people need to seriously find a limit with what they do. They have surpassed the level of "concerned parents," to reach a new state of "self-righteous, nitpicky whistleblowers."

I think for the FCC to take this kind of shit seriously, the complainers need PROOF. As in the videotaped kind. The FCC will go after 'em anyway, because they're overzealous.
I think these nine folks need to get a fucking life. I say 'fuck' all the time. As do many other people. If these jackasses ever left their homes, they'd likely hear it more often, and it wouldn't bother them as much.
And boobs and reproductive organs are part of human anatomy. There's really nothing to be ashamed about. Fucktards.
