But then it just sits on a shelf & no one is getting it together to put it out. But I listen to it all the time & if it ever sees the light of day, everyone should grab it. This is lame to put in this list I know but I actually listen to this more than most of the stuff I'm talking about here, & I wanted to mention the fact of its existence.

I'll see Quasi on Monday in London: I'll try to ask Janet for the third time in less than a year. Maybe her patience will wear her off and she'll hand me a copy, or else she will slap me in the face. :| Else I'll steal Sam's copy.

Q: Will you record a drums-only album?

Janet Weiss wrote:
A: Funny you should ask. In January I recorded a drums only album with a couple of friends. They happen to be two of the most amazing drummers who've ever lived, the stellar Matt Cameron of Soundgarden/Pearl Jam fame, and the mind-blowing Zach Hill from Hella. We set up three kits in the Jackpot! studio here in Portland (during an uncharacteristic snow storm) and improvised for a few days. We hadn't practiced together, and had no set ideas as to what the record would end up sounding like. We sat down and played what we felt during those particular moments together. It was exciting to work in such an improvisational atmosphere, and absolutely thrilling to rock with two guys who push our instrument's capabilities far beyond the established boundaries. The three of us ripped it up! The record will come out this year. Look for a west coast tour.

Was thinking about this (alleged) release on the weekend. Maybe one day we'll get to hear it.

I'm not sure Cameron is creative enough to produce an all-drums album which is interesting.

That's probably why he considered this one with Hill and Weiss as possible for release.

Janet Weiss formerly of Sleater-Kinney and Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, and others
currently of Quasi and Wild Flag

IS FREAKING AMAZING

Wild Flag live is one of the best shows ive seen in years

Well, if you ever wondered how Binaural would've sounded with Jack Irons on the drums, here it is.
